Interview with Ben Hammersley

Ben Hammersley was my first guest on my Reboot podcasts this year, and his presentation was not only great - but challenging for our minds. The different people I have talked to afterwards, this was the presentation many have said to be the one with the longest lasting effect.

It is my pleasure to bring him "back" and talk with him about how his topic has evolved. Because in this new society, we not only want to express ourselves differently, but also we participate for example through podcasting in conferences, so speakers cannot hold one and the same speech several times.

His keynote for Les Blogs 2.0 is titled "Eight ideas that will really revolutionize the 21st century (and why blogging isn't one of them)" and I encourage you to go listen to it - because hearing him afterwards on some recordings is only half the fun. For more information, read his speaker bio or visit his blog.

Interview with Marc Canter

Who'd thought that Marc Canter not only talks future but has German Opera at hand when you talk to him? But perhaps this is also part of "How to socialize in the year 2055"?

I can tell you, I had a lot to laugh during this interview. We talk for example about
  • digital lifestyle, structured blogging, microcontent, microformats

  • meet space and how to meet women (and jobs) online

  • about not looking in content, but using open standards - and have better services on top

  • the new era of media blogging

Interview with Dana VanDen Heuvel

Dana VanDen Heuvel's interview has gotten a bit longer than the others, but this is also due to the fact that it was one of the first I recorded. As everything around RSS is very interesting to me, I naturally was hooked on listening to him. :)

Typepad to offer special Business service?

According to Modern Marketing:

In a frank email exchange about Typepad's recent problems, TP's CEO Barak Berkowitz told me that Six Apart is to launch a "Business Class Service" after the big move.

A personal blogger might not care so much about whether or not his site is up 90% of the time, a business person does.

If posting on your plattform takes that long, it costs too much money. But the question will be how they will justify the probably coming price increase? Just by "pay us and you will get the service you once where used to"?

Overview of the Les Blogs 2.0 podcast

For the next month, this site will contain mainly publishing around the pre conference podcast for Les Blogs 2.0; after that it will be the place where I talk about all things new media, be it blogs, podcasts or other things to follow.

Pre conference podcasts are fun (except for the long name), and this is my third this year. I started doing this with "preboot", the precon for reboot 7 in Copenhagen and continued it with a podcast for the Podcastcon UK.

Now, with the upcoming Les Blogs 2.0, you will get one too. This post will be the collecting post where I will list all of the interviews.

Websites and their contact info pages

While setting up interviews with speakers from Les Blogs 2.0 (let me rephrase that: trying to schedule), I encountered the problem of not being able to find a way to contact most of the people on the list.

Which is interesting, because many of them had a webpage, but only a few provided an email address or a contact form. Don't get me wrong: I absolutly understand the need of privacy, but there are times when somebody should be able to contact you at all. At the moment, I will probably look up the phone number of the company and place a normal landline call to get in contact - and with that use up more ressources then just a simple email.

If you might think the interview request is nothing which should go through and I am biased on that, think about it this way: Somebody is willing to offer you a great job / project. And all they got is a lousy phone number. Do you want that to happen? :)

[And when you read this entry very early, my contact form is not ready - on this domain. But on every other ones, like for example here. :)]

the usual first test entry.

Lore ipsum is stupid, but it would be cool if one could just copy and paste text with meaning right away. Somehow the promised intelligent computers should come up with this - after all, this is the year 2005!
